The factibility of the protocol of dysphagia in palliative care (PADICUP) / A factibilidade do protocolo de disfagia nos cuidados paliativos (PADICUP)

Patients in Palliative Care (PC) represent a public whose demand is great for speech therapy, and because there no standardized instrument assessing the swallowing of people COP, Protocol Evaluation Dysphagia (PADICUP) was elaborated. However, it had not been applied patients. This study aimed to analyze feasibility PADICUP patients palliative care clinic city Belém, PA. A quantitative cross-sectional approach carried out with 30 participants from April October 2019. The data obtained evaluations through protocol were organized spreadsheets submitted percentage statistical analysis using correlation Pearson. Among studied public, as main complaints observed during screening weight loss (97%), xerostomy (77%) clearing feeding (68%). Regarding evaluation PADICUP, only 77% able be evaluated oral diet some consistency, being transit time decreased, vocal quality altered, reduced laryngeal elevation, multiple cavity residue, most altered manifestations. PC present significant changes need qualified assertive therapy support, feasible used this purpose, since covers demands needs receiving care.
